Astrid Hulsmann works as a curator at BredaPhoto and has been part of the team since 2022. BredaPhoto is the organisation behind the BredaPhoto Festival, an international biennial that takes place in the city Breda, The Netherlands. BredaPhoto showcases, explores, interprets, and questions international contemporary photography and audiovisual art through socially relevant themes. The festival deliberately seeks out experimentation and emerging talent, actively contributing to the development of photography and creating opportunities for makers. Previously Astrid has been working at Kunstmuseum and Fotomuseum Den Haag and has many years of experience in communications and PR. She’s a guest tutor at various art academies, writes on contemporary photography and has organized photography talks as a board member of PictureThis. She holds a Master’s degree in Modern & Contemporary Art.
