Irish Photo Network: Edition 2026
A collaborative cross-border partnership between Photo Museum Ireland, Belfast Exposed, Belfast Photo Festival, and Source Magazine.
Strengthening photography across the island of Ireland
The Irish Photo Network unites artists, curators, and organisations in a collaborative effort to build sustainable futures for photography. Through artist commissions, symposia, training, and research, we create opportunities that reach across borders, strengthen professional practice, and contribute to the cultural life of the whole island.
In 2026, the programme focuses on two connected areas: supporting artists to develop photobooks, and building a clearer picture of what photographers need to sustain their practice now.
Artist’s Need Survey
Our annual all-island survey tracks the changing professional needs and experiences of photographers and photographic artists, North and South. Available in Irish and English, the findings help IPN partners identify emerging priorities and shape future artist development, resources and opportunities.
Photo Book Award
A cross-border open call supporting one photographer to develop a photobook project into a dummy publication. The recipient receives €1,000 plus specialist input from an invited international publisher or mentor.
The closing date for submissions is midnight on Sunday 11 October 2026.
The Impact of The Irish Photo Network
IPN creates practical connections between artists, organisations and opportunities North and South. The 2026 programme combines direct artist development with sector research. Together, these strands help us respond to immediate needs while building stronger foundations for future support across the island.
