PEGGY SUE AMISON

Artistic Director (East Wing, Germany)

Peggy Sue Amison is the Artistic Director of East Wing, a platform for photography founded in Doha, Qatar (2015–present). With a strong commitment to supporting innovative visual storytelling, she mentors artists on long-term projects and contributes to the strategy, development, and international presentation of contemporary photographic work.

A curator, writer, producer, and consultant, Peggy Sue collaborates with emerging and established photographers, festivals, and publications around the world. In addition to her leadership at East Wing, she curates exhibitions internationally, including recent projects such as FUTURE TENSE for FORMAT Photo Festival (2024), Imagine Another Perspective at Alfred Ehrhardt Stiftung, Berlin (2024), and LagosPhoto Festival (2023).

She also leads educational and editorial initiatives, such as the Reimagining African Narratives masterclass with NEWF (Nature, Environment, and Wildlife Filmmakers) in Durban, South Africa (2025).

Before East Wing, Peggy Sue served as Artistic Director of Sirius Arts Centre in County Cork, Ireland (2001–2014), a multidisciplinary non-profit arts organization and residency program. She is a founding board member of the Belfast Photography Festival and regularly contributes essays for photographic publications and artist catalogues.

Originally from the United States, Peggy Sue is based in Berlin, Germany.
