About the Artist and Exhibition:

The Centre for the Living Things is the research pata-institution founded in 2016, in order to examine, collect and popularise the knowledge concerning new humanotic nature forms. All exhibits gathered in the Institute’s collection are abandoned objects, used and no longer needed commodities – wastes of human overproduction, which have become the natural environment for many living organisms.

Diana Lelonek explores relationships between humans and other species. Her projects are critical responses to the processes of over-production, unlimited growth, and our approach to the environment. Diana uses photography, living matter, and found objects, creating work that is interdisciplinary and often appears at the interface of art and science.

Centrum Rzeczy Żywych to badawcza pata-instytucja założona w 2016 roku w celu badania, gromadzenia oraz popularyzacji wiedzy na temat nowych, humanoidalnych form przyrody. Wszystkie eksponaty zgromadzone w kolekcji instytutu to porzucone przedmioty, zużyte i zbędne towary – odpady ludzkiej nadprodukcji, które stały się naturalnym środowiskiem życia dla wielu organizmów.

Diana Lelonek bada relacje między ludźmi a innymi gatunkami. Jej projekty są krytyczną odpowiedzią na procesy nadprodukcji, nieograniczonego wzrostu oraz stosunek człowieka do środowiska naturalnego. W swoich pracach posługuje się fotografią, żywą materią oraz znalezionymi przedmiotami, tworząc dzieła interdyscyplinarne, sytuujące się często na styku sztuki i nauki.
